CLIAS is building on the diverse strengths of Canada's IAS leaders, creating
linkages with academic institutions, corporations from a variety of sectors,
and government players. We have formal linkages with the University of
Waterloo, one of the Canada's other major players in cryptography and quantum
computing. Formal agreements for collaboration with international research
teams provide opportunities to remain abreast of theoretical and technological
advances and provide access to world-class training to our students.
We benefit from, and support, industrial links with companies such as General
Dynamics, NE2 and SGI Canada, all important industry players with vested
interests in IAS. CLIAS supports their interests in IAS applications, ranging
from wireless security to medical data protection to the implementation of
specific cryptosystems. CLIAS is also developing links with security
associations and organizations across Canada to ensure a cooperative approach
to IAS.
