CLIAS represents an important opportunity to leverage valuable research and
development dollars. As Canada's premiere academically based IAS resource,
CLIAS will provide partners and collaborators from the private and public
sector with access to exceptional:
Research and Development
CLIAS is committed to working with participants from academia, government and
industry so together we can benefit from innovative research and development
opportunities in cryptography, quantum science and IAS. CLIAS researchers and
their collaborators have extensive experience in the theoretical and applied
aspects of these IAS areas, and are internationally renowned for their
expertise and contributions to their fields. We are continually looking for
potential partners and collaborators to discuss new research and development
projects.
Training Programs and Highly Qualified Personnel
CLIAS provides ongoing training and professional development opportunities
through university courses, research initiatives, workshops, conferences, and
presentations. The University of Calgary is currently establishing a formal
information security concentration as part of its Bachelor of Science program
in Computer Science, and graduate student and Post Doctoral Fellow study
opportunities with
CISaC,
IQIS, and
ATIPS.
Trainees will gain practical and hands-on training
through real-world problem solving. CLIAS will also support training
opportunities for those wishing to seek accreditation as security professionals.
Intellectual Property, Knowledge and Technology Transfer
CLIAS will benefit the Canadian economy by identifying and developing
intellectual property opportunities, partnering with firms to commercialize
these technologies, and participating in the transfer of knowledge and
technology to its partners. The CLIAS team has extensive experience developing
IP with industry partners and looks forward to working with new partners.
Infrastructure and Facilities
As part of CLIAS research and development initiatives, our partners and
collaborators will have access to the institute's infrastructure and
facilities. These include:
A secure high performance computing cluster for testing new cryptographic;
A quantum cryptography test bed;
System-on-Chip design and testing facilities; and,
Clean-room facilities for assembling integrated security devices.
Partnerships and Collaborations
CLIAS seeks to build on its substantial network of partners and collaborators
to advance research and development, commercialization and knowledge transfer
opportunities. As a hub, CLIAS will link organizations and individuals to their
mutual benefit. Whether the partner is a small, medium, or large sized
business, a government team, or an academic organization, there is an
opportunity to work together and develop IAS solutions. We can help Canadian
organizations maximize the leverage of their research and development
investments.
